Our county has many things to see and do. We are located near Uwharrie Lake, Tuckertown Lake, Badin Lake and Lake Tillery. So, you can have plenty of sun and swimming, boating, fishing and other water activities!
If you enjoy hiking or nature trail walks or just wanting to have a picnic...than our state parks are for you! We have nearby Uwharrie National Forest and Morrow Mountain, to name a few. We also offer many golf courses in our county. The Badin Inn Golf Resort and Club, Piney Point Golf Club as well as Uwharrire Point Home of the Old North State Club.
We are just an hour's drive away from one of the states largest cities, Charlotte, N.C.. Once there, you might want to explore the Discovery Place Science Museum or the Museum of Arts and Crafts. You may be a Nascar fan, if so, visit the Lowes Motor Speedway or see the Panthers play some football, or see a game of ice hockey with the Charlotte Checkers. No matter what you are looking for, there is something for everyone!
